About Sarah

Sarah received a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from Aurora University in 2008. She is certified in perinatal mental health through PSI and has training in perinatal loss through Resolve Through Sharing and Seleni Institute. She provides counseling for perinatal loss, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, life transitions, grief, identity exploration, and trauma.

Sarah has a relational style and utilizes concepts from CBT, DBT, mindful self-compassion, and attachment theories when working with clients. She is also an IFS (internal family systems) informed therapist. In May 2025, Sarah will be completing training in the trauma treatment modality Brainspotting.

Sarah recognizes the profound impact that oppressive systems can have on her clients’ lives. She is committed to challenging these systems both in her work with clients and in the broader community. As she often reflects, sometimes people are drowning—not because they can’t swim, but because they’re trying to do it with a brick tied to their ankle.
