About Sarah
I graduated from Aurora University with a master’s degree in clinical social work in 2008. I have worked in a variety of settings and have been in private practice for 10 years. I work with childhood trauma, complex trauma, grief and loss, sexual identity, mood disorders, and anxiety disorders. I also spent a decade working with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders and loss including pregnancy termination.
My approach is grounded in the understanding of complex trauma and dissociation. I use models like IFS (internal family systems), which recognizes that we all have parts of ourselves that carry pain, protect us, and show up in ways that don’t always make sense-but they all have good reasons to be there. I also utilize Brainspotting which is a relational, brain-body, mindfulness based treatment.
I believe healing happens in relationship-with someone who can hold space for all of you, including the parts that feel ashamed, angry, or like they are too much. I have done and continue to do my own healing work, and I honor how vulnerable therapy is. My goal is to help you feel safe enough to bring your whole self into the room-whenever you are ready.
Recent training includes Brainspotting phases one and two, IFS circle training spring 2025, Ketamine assisted psychotherapy (KAP) training through Journey Clinical/IPI, KAP training June 2026 through Polaris Insight Center.
